Michael Neaves is Programme Manager at ECOS as part of the Circular Economy team is responsible for reducing the environmental impacts of Buildings & Construction Products, in conjunction with work on energy intensive industries/high-impact resources, namely steel, cement and concrete, through both policy and standards. Michael participates in the committee on standards for sustainability of construction works in the development of European standards to assess and communicate sustainability of products, buildings and refurbishment. Additionally, Michael also coordinates ECOS’ nanomaterials programme, engaging with CEN, ISO and the OECD on appropriate test methods, guidelines and other standards relating to the use of nanomaterials. Michael studied and researched Science and Technology Policy at the Science Policy Research Unit (SPRU) at the University of Sussex, England.
