Executive Director of STAM, Italy
Stefano Carosio graduated in Chemical Engineering in 1994 and got an Honorary Doctorate on Innovation Management in 2012. After the military service as officer, he has been working (for 21 years) in D’Appolonia, RINA Group, as Director for Research and Innovation, in charge of innovation consulting and contract research activities. From April 2017 to April 2020 he started-up as Managing Director Unismart, in-house commercial for profit company of the University of Padova in charge of technology transfer, then transformed into the Foundation of the University in Padova. Since April 2020 Stefano is the Executive Director of STAM, an engineering and innovation management company based in Genova (Italy) actively involved in the field of energy and sustainability in the built environment as well as acceleration of disruptive ventures for decarbonisation.
Stefano Carosio has been indeed involved in the field of energy efficient buildings and smart and circular cities since twenty years. His expertise has been acknowledged by the European Commission and leading industrial players, inviting me to co-chair group of experts in charge of defining the EU strategic roadmap for research and innovation. He participated as key note speaker to international conferences and workshops dealing with innovation, technology and societal challenges.
